Québec QST and GST/HST registration
Revenu Québec describes a specified QST system (registration numbers containing “NR”) for some suppliers outside Québec. Registration under the specified system is done online in My Account for suppliers outside Québec. Registration under the general system is done by contacting Revenu Québec.
The CRA describes a simplified GST/HST regime for some non-resident businesses that are not registered under the normal regime and do not carry on business in Canada. According to the CRA, registration generally depends on whether the threshold amount exceeds C$30,000 over any 12-month period.
